RSGB IOTA Contest 2015 – GU9V

Before the contest MU0PCB was active mainly on the WARC bands. Clive the Contesting Penguin was on watch as usual.

Usually VSQ members Iain M0PCB, Chloe M0GEJ and Pete 2E0SQL join the HamTests team for the IOTA contest and operate as MU0HTJ. This year, due to the incredibly unfortunate and untimely passing of Louis 2U0FER plans changed somewhat. Already we had decided that in 2015 the Vulture’s short contest call would be used as GU9V, …

20m Spiderbeam and 10m Yagi atop the NN4ZZ Hexlock

During 2014 Ian M0IRD and Iain M0PCB will be making more of an effort to get on the VHF bands in the UKAC series. This was an all time record for both operators with 59 QSOs, all in England but over 11 squares. Running 50W from an Icom IC-7100 into a 9 element Tonna yagi …

CQWPX SSB 2014 – G9V

This year we made a last minute decision to enter the M/2 section as we weren’t able to comply with the required PTT lockouts for M/S, having decided late in the day to run a multiplier radio. We had a new yagi, in the shape of a Spiderbeam and along with the quarter-wave verticals on …
